When I was 13 years old my cousin came to stay with me for a holiday,
and with her she bought a tatty old acoustic guitar. I remember
the first time I picked it up and touched the strings. The sound
hit me in my solar plexus. It resonated through me and invoked all
kinds of feelings and emotions that I had never felt before.
Then when I was 14 years old my mother had answered an advert in the local paper. It was a band looking for a singer. The band came to audition me and I passed. We performed mainly ABBA songs as we looked and sounded very much like them. Then our dreams appeared to be coming true, as after passing numerous auditions we were picked to appear on the 'ITV's Search For A Star' in 1979.
It was a wonderful time. Brian Rogers was our choreographer, and the Alan Hainsworth Orchestra performed one of our original songs. We were treated like stars and met many wonderful people.
We stayed in a top hotel in London for a week and were taken to an amazing clothes shop to pick what we wanted to wear on the programme. We just loved singing in the huge studio and life couldn't have been better.
We came third on the show, had a wonderful time. We managed to get a lot of work up and down the country because of the TV appearance and it continued that way until I was 17.
Then bands being bands, we eventually all fell out and split up. The bass player in our band was Tom, a handsome chappy and we fell in love. We put a duo together performing covers and original material. We went to work in the Middle East for six month, Europe and the UK.
We continued to work for many years as a duo performing everywhere from army bases, clubs, pubs, hotels, marques, private functions etc. Then I guess this is where it gets a little weird!!! In 1989 myself , Tom and my family saw a UFO,,,,A long story, but that sighting changed our lives forever. I became very philosophical about life, the universe etc.
We totally changed our stage show and became very visual with lights, projectors etc. We even dressed as Aliens in the last song. It sounds funny but it was powerful stuff and looked great. The UFO experience showed in our music and we were performing songs which we thought had more real meaning. I went on to hold paranormal conferences in Cardiff, South Wales which were always a total sell out. I bought a professor from the US to speak and got some pretty amazing people to talk at these events. David Icke and Reg Presley from the Troggs came to give a talk as they had become as weird as us.
The BBC got to hear that a housewife (me) had got a Harvard professor (Dr John E Mack) to come to the UK for the first time to speak about Alien Abductions. They turned the whole thing into a programme after filming us for a week entitled ' Beyond Belief'.
I became so interested in everything paranormal including the crop circles and we moved in 94' to Wiltshire to be nearer to them. I bought more recording gear and set up a recording studio at my home. At this point it was just to record my music. I would disappear for days at a time just writing, writing, writing and experimenting with my new keys and guitars. My life had become Music and Mysteries. Wow!!! Don't they both go well together .
I write songs in all styles of music and one of my publishers sell a collection of 4 albums that I have written entitled 'Elements' which is relaxation/meditation music. This can be purchased from them at http://www.hypnosisaudio.com/relaxation_music.htm
I have written a musical complete with all of the main songs and it's about talking trees. Yet again this was inspired after the UFO experience. I don't care if anyone thinks I'm mad. I love being mad .Music and mysteries have made me a better person. I care about the earth now, I care about people and empathise with them where as before I didn't care about anyone other than me. I'm not religious but I believe in some greater force out there. I definitely believe in life on other worlds and UFO's. I also love to paint the ancient sites especially onto slate as I think that I am addicted to being creative .
And most of all MUSIC, where would I be without it, sigh!!!!!!
